The Land in the Territory of Escalante and Hells Backbone

The Land in the Territory of Escalante and Hells Backbone

June 5th- 7th Retreat Boulder, Utah

Details:

  • I want to thoughtfully acknowledge those of you who are navigating family life, especially mamas with young children.

Our hosts, Shelley and Billy at The Roost, are in this season themselves with their own little one, so there is a shared understanding of what it means to balance presence here with care for your family.

Just a couple of houses down, there is an Airbnb available that could comfortably accommodate partners and little ones if being fully away from your family isn’t feasible. This creates an option for you to stay close while still participating in the retreat.

For mamas who are breastfeeding, I will be building in a few natural breaks throughout the schedule to support your needs.

Billy has also generously offered to be available as a guide if partners and children would like to explore nearby—there is a beautiful walk from the property to a stream that offers space for play, rest, and connection with the land. Of course, partners are also welcome to venture out on their own and enjoy the many hikes and natural offerings in the area.

My intention is to create open communication ahead of time so that some thoughtful planning can happen before we gather. If you’re considering coming and have specific needs or circumstances, please reach out and let me know what your situation is—we can explore what feels supportive for you and your family.

There is also the option to extend your stay before or after the retreat if that would better support your experience, and we can discuss those possibilities together.

  • For this first gathering, I’m offering a discounted rate of $225, which simply covers the cost of the Roost and shared meals. This is an introductory offering as we begin to shape these retreats, and it won’t remain at this price point—future gatherings will range $375 -$505, still intentionally kept within an accessible range as a reflection of my devotion to this work and to those who feel called to it.

More than anything, this feels like an opening—an early moment in something that is still becoming. And there’s something special about saying yes at the beginning, when it’s a little more intimate, a little more raw, and closer to the heart of why it’s being created at all.

  • Once registration is complete, we’ll support coordinating carpooling options to minimize the number of vehicles on the land. This is a particularly beautiful and sensitive area, and part of our intention is to keep the space feeling as natural and undisturbed as possible.

The Roost is located in Upper Boulder—a small, friendly, and close-knit community—and we want to move with care and respect for both the land and the people who call it home.
